The game takes place over five minute rounds known as ‘Days’, each day will involve a group activity given to you by ‘HouseMaster’. Before each day you will have a minute to read your Secret Objectives, in the form of an easy to read PDF on your phone, which also includes voting links.

As long as you have a laptop with a camera and a smart-phone you can play. The host will be on hand at all times to help with any tech issues.

Each round, your character will have an objective to complete, along with suggestions on how they achieve it. For example your Objective might be to ‘Stir up trouble’ so the suggestions might be ‘‘Give backhanded compliments’ or ‘Accuse another housemate of cheating’. Each character has their own Secret Objectives.

We recommend 16+. We’ve had players range from 18 - 75. You don’t need to have been around in the year 2000, but it does add to the nostalgia!

No problem! You can reserve a date and your guests can confirm their place at their convenience.

It happens! Luckily, the game works with any combination of characters, just make sure you have at least 7 for the two hour game, or at least 4 for the 1 hour game, and if it looks like it’ll be fewer, we’re happy to rearrange.

No, there are no actors. HouseMaster narrates events between rounds and sets each day’s tasks, and you will be able to interact with a technical advisor via the private chat box.

Absolutely not! You can interpret your character however you like, what’s important is that you follow your objectives - it’s about what you do, not how you do it, and like with most things, the more you give, the more you get back!

We encourage it! Some of the funniest moments come when players simply can’t keep a straight face any longer. The most important thing is that you enjoy yourself!

THIS IS REALITY 2000 is designed to be played on Zoom on a laptop or desktop computer. Playing on Tablets, including iPads, or mobile phones is possible, however this will hinder the experience.

Each character is based on classic reality TV persona ‘types’, you’ll recognise contestants from Big Brother, Come dine with me, The Apprentice, Love Island and more. Each character is gender neutral so can be played by anyone and in any way you wish! Find out more about the characters here.
