Our story

Who we are.

We create interactive social experiences: regular quizzes, parties and corporate entertainment designed to get people talking to each other, not their phones.

We're also expert presenters, run role-playing games and training sessions, and build bespoke experiences for clients who want something a bit different.

Since 2019 we've earned over 50 five-star reviews on Google for our in-person and online events, and hosted thousands of guests at pubs, festivals, private parties and company socials.

How it started

It matters that you're here.

Ever been to a party and felt like a fish out of water? Or at a corporate event and it feels harder work than… work?

That's where Get Social comes in. We create events and games to help you break the ice, make friends, and have the best social experience.

It started with a murder mystery…

It started with a murder mystery that was not so thrilling. The host spent the entire day printing out sheets (over 300 pages!), divvying them up to people who found them impenetrable, thrown into a three-hour unguided improvisation, with an unsatisfying payoff (yes, it was who you thought it was from the very beginning).

Even though the appetite was there, restrictive instructions, unclear objectives, generic characters, and an off-the-shelf backstory meant it was stilted, frustrating, and ultimately… boring.

We knew we could take the heart of this concept and do it so much better.

Creating The Art of Murder

As actors who trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, we decided to create our own with a simple aim… to help people connect, have fun, and escape.

We started with some basic objectives of our own. Clear, simple instructions. Against-the-clock rounds. Relevant, well-written stories. Fun, modern characters. No endless printing for the host!

Our first production, The Art of Murder, was tested in a freezing London warehouse in January 2020. As we witnessed 22 non-actor strangers overcome their initial shyness to transform into amazing and vibrant characters, we knew we were onto something special. Unfortunately, the pandemic soon curtailed our plans for The Art of Murder. But we didn't let that stop us.

Online games with THIS IS REALITY 2000

We created a new game designed for Zoom, set in the year 2000, and based on the best of reality TV. During the pandemic, hundreds of enthusiastic players entered the house and played as one of 12 characters inspired by iconic moments and characters from the art form of the 21st century. They took part in challenges, votes, nominations, games and quizzes, as well as following their secret objectives and creating their own unique story.

We made it possible for large groups to connect in a meaningful way over Zoom. In fact, the game worked best with a full house of 12… something that can't often be said for a group video call. We happily discovered that, even in those limiting times, exhilarating and immersive experiences were still possible.

It is all about the experience you create, share, and remember together.

Live events, quizzes and games!

We were commissioned to create a Y2K-themed quiz based on our work on THIS IS REALITY 2000 for Brixton Jamm. From there, we've created and delivered themed quizzes for Thursday, the dating app, festivals such as Camp Wildfire, corporates such as Linnworks and Runa, charities such as Out For Sport, private parties… and many more!

Popularity: the party game for friends and foes!

Three years in the making, Popularity is now published. We knew we had to take the work we'd done on THIS IS REALITY 2000 and transform it into a social party game that people could take and play whenever they liked.

After many months of development, hundreds of playtests, and countless iterations, we printed prototype copies and put the game on sale.

The game where social influence is everything and reputations can be built or broken with the flip of a card! Play your cards right to reach the Height of Popularity in the game of tactics, luck, and social clout! Make memories and create your own drama as friendships and rivalries are forged and forgotten with flattery, trash talk, betrayal, and revenge.

So will you play nice to boost your reputation with favours and friendship… or play the villain and betray your rivals with grudges and gossip? Find out the true social pecking order with 2 to 8 friends or foes!
