Booking Terms
Last updated: 11 September 2026
These are the terms on which we host events. They apply to every booking confirmed with us by email, whether you're a company or an individual. Written in plain English because we'd rather you read them.
Who we are
Get Social is Get Social Ltd, company number 12415409, registered at 11 The Quarries, Swindon, England, SN1 4EX. “We” and “us” below means that company; “you” means whoever books us.
Quotes and bookings
Every quote is specific to your event: date, venue, headcount and format. A booking exists once we've confirmed it in writing and you've paid the deposit described below. We ask for at least three weeks' notice, longer for December; we can sometimes do less, but can't promise it.
Paying
Bookings are secured by a 25% deposit on booking, with the balance due seven days before the event. Business customers pay by bank transfer against an invoice, within 14 days. Our quote states whether it includes VAT.
Cancelling — business customers
If you cancel, we charge the deposit if you cancel more than 14 days before the event, and the full fee if you cancel inside 14 days. If we have to cancel for a reason within our control, we refund everything you've paid; if the reason is outside anyone's control (severe weather, illness with no substitute host, a venue closing) we will offer a new date first and refund in full if none works.
Cancelling — if you're booking as an individual
If you're booking a wedding, party or other private celebration as a consumer rather than a business, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of the day we confirm your booking, for any reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To cancel, email hello@getsocial.uk with your name and the event date; a clear statement is enough. Your deposit is refunded in full.
If your event is less than 14 days away when you book, we can only hold the date if you ask us to start work straight away. By confirming a booking inside that window you make that request, and you acknowledge that once the event has taken place you can no longer cancel under the 14-day right. Cancellations after the 14 days follow the business ladder above.
What we need from you
Access to the venue to set up before guests arrive, a confirmed headcount seven days before the event, and a contact on the day. Where your venue needs a copy of our insurance, ask and we'll send it.
Our responsibility to you
If something we do goes wrong, our liability to you is limited to the fee you paid for that event. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law says can't be limited. We aren't responsible for things outside our control at your venue, such as power, sound systems we didn't supply, or access.
Insurance
We hold public liability insurance to £2 million.
Games and products
Nothing is sold on this site. Popularity is sold on popularitythegame.com under that site's own terms; tickets for our public quiz nights are sold through Outsavvy under theirs. These terms cover hosted events only.
Changes, and the law that applies
We'll update these terms here and change the date at the top; the version in force for your booking is the one on the day we confirm it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction — without affecting your statutory rights as a consumer.
